Gradient Map for Construct 2
A downloadable tool for Windows, macOS, and Linux
This is a tool for creating a gradient map in Construct 2. A gradient map essentially replaces the colors of an image based on the image's value. Starting with a greyscale image, it maps one end of the gradient to dark colors and the other end to lights, covering all values in between.
This is fairly easy to do in Photoshop (there's just a Gradient Map adjustment layer) but to do this in Construct requires layers of WebGL effects. This code template uses all native Construct 2 effects, no need to download external plugins.
This blog post explains how to set up the code in your own project.
Download includes a tool for easily determining ramp values, as well as a .capx with the code outlined in the blog post. The .capx project requires Construct 2 Release 255 (March 7 2018) or higher to open.
